Regulation

Due to our music video including the message of empowerment for men and women relating to self-image within the media, our film will be a 12A rating.

We have chosen the 12A certificate because of the issues that will be addressed within the music video. Since the video will address issues of body image, influence of drugs and bullying, this means that it will most likely be more suitable for people over the age of 12. On the other hand, with the music video being a 12A, this means that audiences under the age of 12 can watch the music video as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Younger children may need the support of the parents if there if an issue addressed which they may find hurtful or offensive. We have decided to this because according to be BBFC they regulate a 12A because “No two 12 year olds are the same.” Which means one image may not affect one 12 year old but may affect the other. The drug use throughout the video will not be glamorised as the BBFC intend for 12A film and video to portray an ‘anti-drug’ message alongside which will correlate alongside our original message. The drug use will be addressed throughout the music video but it will be infrequent.
